Fellow first-world inhabitants, correct me if I’m wrong: but do you realize just how lucky you are? I know, there are plenty of people shoving down your throat that you’re lucky to live in a country, where you face no real imminent danger, etcetera- but do those words ever truly sink in? You have clothes, you have food, you have a home, you have the satisfaction of knowing for almost certain that you are safe in that home. I just find it ridiculous to see the amount of people who claim that their lives are so hard done by, why not just be grateful for the creature comforts that you have grown up with for once? I mean sure, we fight our own battles and I’m not saying that anyones problems are more or less important on a personal scale.. but people really need to learn how lucky they actually are. Sure, ignorance is bliss, but I’m almost 100% sure that bliss is false and short-lived.
